Because seaweeds naturally absorb minerals from their environment, where they grow has a direct impact on what ends up in the final product. Belize is home to the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System, a UNESCO World Heritage Site made up of seven protected marine areas extending along the coast and offshore atolls.
